New poster images and Audience feedback

Myself and Alice decided that we wanted to take more photos for our poster image, due to the fact that we felt our original photos were not that effective. Our first photo shoot took place within the forest area, which is an appropriate setting that produces a sense of isolation and fear; however we recognised that our image would be more frightening if it focused on the supernatural entity as opposed to our innocent and heroic protagonist (Morgan).

We also realised that our original photos were taken during the daytime, therefore the high key lighting connoted a sense of happiness and security- but this would be inappropriate for the genre of our trailer. This is why we decided to redo our photo shoot later on in the evening, in order for our images to convey emotions of danger, evil and enigma through the use of low key lighting.

By conducting a survey we gained results that were useful in helping us decide what images were most appealing to our audience, so we asked the key questions “what are your favourite images?” and “what images need improving?” in order to gain a wide variety of responses and constructive criticism. The survey results displayed to us that the most popular images were numbers 1, 5 and 10- we were happy with these results due to the fact that we’d put a lot of effort into these images in terms of getting the positioning of our model and the lighting affective.
